- October 2021: WeMET P.C. teaming together with LENOVO Supercomputers and Saudi Business Machines (SBM) has granted the second phase of the project to develop the weather forecasting system (weather, dust, wave, ocean circulation) for the National Center for Meteorology – NCM (former General Authority of Environmental Predictions -GAMEP) of Saudi Arabia. The second phase includes an integrated system with hydrological, flood inundation and flash-flood warning elements. The development will take place in a new LENOVO supercomputer system with 350 nodes (Dual Ice Lake Intel Xeon CPUs) as extension to the 200 nodes of the first phase of the project. It is a three-year project that includes an extensive training program and transfer of technology to the client.
